Terms of engagement

In Mindful Kids we show respect to ourselves, each other and the environment.

The Mindful Kids Holiday Programme is based at the Scout Hall on May Street in Mount Maunganui. It's close to Mount Drury Reserve and the Main Beach and so it's an ideal location to explore the outdoors and explore in nature.

Private sessions and group programmes are based at Katheryn's home in Mount Maunganui.  Detailed information of this location will be sent to you at the time of booking.

In Mindful Kids we create art using nature as our inspiration and this might include using glue guns, paints, food colouring, scissors and other standard art equipment. You agree to let your child use the necessary tools in order to participate in the creative aspect of the programme.

As a trained yoga instructor Katheryn may invite the group to practice yoga and therefore clothing that is suitable for exercise and stretching is recommended.

In the Mindful Kids Holiday Programme it's important that all children come prepared for a day outdoors.Obvious items include sunblock and hats in the summer, rain coats on a wet day and proper footwear. A change of clothes is always good.

In the Mindful Kids programme they will need enough food and drink for the day. Mindful Kids will take no responsibility for administering medication or consumption of food or water.

Please declare any medical conditions and or allergies when you register for Mindful kids so we can provide the right level of care for your child.

Katheryn will ensure that basic first aid is administered to your child if they injure themselves. For more serious incidents parents will be notified. Please ensure we have at least two emergency contacts. In the event of a serious incident you consent for emergency services to be contacted.

Please also inform us if your child has any learning needs, mental health needs or physical  disability that may affect them or others.

Mindful kids accept no liability for any injury, damage or loss. By ticking the ‘term of engagement ‘box when booking you give your consent/permission for your child to participate in Mindful Kids knowing that we will be accessing the outdoors and creating art.

The Mindful Kids Holiday Programme is open to all children aged 5-12 years of age sessions are from 9am-2pm. Drop off and pick up are from the Scout Hall.
